What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is a fraternal organization whose members are joined together by shared moral ideals and by a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being. It is the worlds oldest and largest fraternal society with lodges existing around the world. It dates back to medieval stonemason guilds who controlled quality through a series of degrees and tests.

Who can join?

The fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons has members from every ethnic group and every continent in the world. Brotherhood is a primary teaching of Masonry--that each person must be judged as an individual, on his own merits, and that such factors as race, national origin, religious creed, social status, or wealth are incidental to the person's character. To petition for membership, the petitioner must be "a man of legal age, good reputation, and possess a belief in God." It is forbidden for a freemason to ask another person to join. The petitioner must seek membership of their "own free will and accord". If you desire to join you should contact your local lodge.
